Conditions of the Competition

a)The competition is open to everyone, except for the members of the selection committee and their relatives.
b)Applications for the competitions organized in the fiction and documentary categories must be performed by the director. On condition that the film is directed by more than one, the written permission of the other directors must be obtained and added to the application form.
c) The duration of the films to participate in the competition must be between 5 and 20 minutes, excluding the introduction text. (The selection committee has the right to extend the time limits by 10%, if necessary.)
d) The deadline to apply for the competition is 5 p.m. on 30th March 2024.
e) The award ceremony will be held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center of Selçuk University.
f) Participants can take part in the competition with more than one film. For application, it is required that one copy of the work should be included in a flash memory. The director’s name, surname, name, duration, and production date of the film must be written in the flash memory. Films must be arranged in one of MPEG, MP4, or MOV formats.
g) Participants must print out the form attached to the specifications and attach it to their application with a wet signature. Applications will be carried out via mail or electronically.
h) Application files can be sent to The Alperen Education, Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya by cargo in a sealed envelope and delivered personally or through the Internet.

  • Application through the Internet: For films, an encrypted (optional) connection must be created via Google Drive, YouTube / Vimeo,
  • Documents related to the application must be sent with a wet signature, scanned or photographed to our address: iktfilmyarismasi@gmail.com, along with the link and password of the film.
  1. i) The works must have the picture quality and sound quality appropriate for display. Films not comply with the conditions in the specifications or with corrupted recordings will be excluded from the competition without warning the participant. The works applied to the competition will be evaluated by the jury according to the following criteria:
    Originality in the scenario
    • Visuality
    • Fiction
    • Technical (Light, sound, etc.)
    j) The award will only be granted to the legal owner of the work whose signature is on the documents. Additionally, the accuracy of all information to be stated in the documents in question is binding on the signatory. Any legal liability that may arise due to the information declared by the applicants belongs to the signatory.
    k)
      The publishing rights of the works submitted to the competition belong to The Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya. The works can be utilized by The Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya in all kinds of media for non-commercial purposes such as education/promotion etc.
    l) The fact that the works were previously submitted to any competition or were given awards does not prevent the works from participating in this competition. Any copyright challenges arising from non-original text, images, music, etc. in the short films submitted to the competition is the responsibility of the contestants. The legal liability arising in this context belongs to the owners of the works.
    m) Each participant accepts in advance that the rights to use the works s/he submits to the competition are given to The Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya, provided that his/her name is used. Accordingly, each participant also accepts that s/he has given permission/consent to The Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya for the work(s) submitted to the competition to be reproduced, processed, disseminated, represented, utilized, and communicated, etc. to the public for all necessary rights under both the law on the intellectual and industrial rights and other relevant legislation.

Within this scope, the owner of the work sent to the competition accepts, declares, and undertakes that s/he cannot revoke the permission given and will not prohibit the use of the work in the above manners or make any copyright, material or moral claims for this permission/consent.

  1. n)No copyright fee will be paid for the works in return for the permission/consent given by the participant.
    o) The results of the competition will be announced on the website www.iktkisafilm.com, and the winning participants will be informed about the results by calling the phone numbers provided in the application form.

  1. p)The awards will be delivered to the winners of the films eligible for awards during an appropriate event by the Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya.
    q) Provided that the number of submitted works is below the number selected by the pre-selection committee for fiction and documentary film categories, the competition will be canceled. (Or the evaluation criteria may not be performed for the category where the number is low.)
    r) The authority for decision-making on other matters not specified in these specifications belongs to The Alperen Education Culture and Solidarity Foundation in Konya.
